Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a outgoing and motivated individual to become part of a busy and diverse team at a great university.There are a number of Microsoft SQL Server based systems which are central to the operation of the University. These include systems which deal with st udent records, finance, human resources, the library, conferences, room bookings, accommodation and external relationships.
The successful candidates will be part of a team responsible for managing the operation of the systems as well as providing user support. There will also be opportunities to be involved in identifying enhancements to the systems and the subsequent implementation of these.
Key duties involve:
- Contributing to the development and support of systems using own initiative to identify and implement solutions in cooperation with the other team members, University users and third party suppliers
- Maintaining existing interfaces between systems and implementing new ones where required
- Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for system related issues
- Liaising with third party suppliers for resolving user issues and working on system enhancements
- Working with end users of the systems with regard to best use of the systems and their data
- Using SQL for data analysis and reporting
If you have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server based database systems, especially in the areas of data querying using SQL. Having an understanding of business reporting and data warehousing within the HE sector would be very advantageous.
