Description

A Web Designer is required for an initial 9 month contract to be based in Exeter, Devon.
The role will require candidates to hold SC Clearance for this post.
Applicants must be eligible an willing to undergo this process.
The Web Designer will focus on the delivery of web design to meet customer requirements. This will include user interface design, requirements elicitation and capture and web design. The Web Designer will be responsible for creating user flows, sketching, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, information architecture and user interface solutions across different platforms.
You will validate work by performing interviews and usability testing with users.
The Web Designer will also produce user interaction and style guides for project work to enable development. Liaising with stakeholders within the business to extract requirements, present work and 'sell' your recommendations effectively.
Promote and assist in implementing user experience and user centred design approach to projects and provide estimates & timescales for user centred design to be implemented into projects.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
*Experience of creating user flows, sketching, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, information architecture and user interface solutions across different platforms.
*Ability to efficiently solve technical problems and implement the solution in a timely manner and organise work in a structured way
*Ability to grasp fresh concepts and implement efficient, effective solutions in a timely manner
*Evidence of an ability to participate effectively in an agile team environment and be able to work independently on allocated tasks.
*Understanding of design in software development and an enthusiasm for working in the IT arena;

It would be desirable if candidates have;
*An understanding of User Centred Design (UCD) methodology
*Solid design skills and ability to use industry standard software (Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator
*Experience of the web development using including HTML5 and CSS3
*Experience building relationships with key stakeholders - extracting requirements, presenting work & making recommendations
