Description
OSS Architect
Main purpose of the role/project:
Evaluation of network inventory systems and proposal of best way forward (balancing commercial/technical needs of the business
Key duties:
Physical Inventory implementation in a number of countries. We would need to put together the solution architecture for this. Both strategic (ie high level - roadmap for 2015 and 2016) and lower-level technical architecture - eg design of integrations, system capabilities, aligning with business requirements.
Logical Inventory for other affiliates to support implementation of a new provisioning/assurance stack. Also both levels - high-level roadmap for resource inventory (why we need it, what the business benefits are, what are the critical parts of inventory and what are optional, etc). And then - technical architecture - integration architecture, application architecture, product gaps
Essential skills/experience
Cramer (preferably 9)
Experienced OSS architect.
Proven ability to evaluate network inventory systems (inc Netcracker, Cramer, hybrid) and propose way forward.
Commercial awareness
Excellent knowledge of how the above is modelled in the inventory systems, actual experience in implementation of the above in major telcos
Knowledge of how inventory ties to other domains; Service Assurance and Service Provisioning. Ability to create a convincing exec slides for resource inventory implementation strategy, pros and cons, etc. Ability to create a strategy roadmap for resource inventory implementation.
Preferably hands-on experience in integrating separate physical and logical inventories - knowing pitfalls, options for implementation, etc
Very good communication and presentation skills between all levels.
Ability to navigate in a complicated international M&A environment.
Excellent knowledge of physical inventory, in particular, inside and outside plant, fiber and copper facilities
Excellent knowledge of the logical inventory:
Core IP Network
Access DOCSIS network (not essential)
L2/L3 VPN logical resource inventory
Good knowledge of the transmission networks: SDH/DWDM
