Description

Agentfire.com is looking a talented WordPress theme / plugin / frontend developer.

Most of the work will deal with Plugin Development / Troubleshooting / Maintaing our numerous WordPress Multisite Environments - that being said we will require someone with expert level WordPress experience, expert in PHP, MYSQL and Java, and high level CSS.

Experience with Wordpress Multisite is a big plus, as our company consists of about 200 client websites spread over 3 different WordPress multisites. Experience with server admin is another plus.

For an example of a plugin you’ll be expected to maintain and continue to help advance, view here: http://www.agentfire.com/website-package/hyper-local-area-seo/

Because we run a lot of multisites, there are constant bugs that we’ll need you to quickly and effectively troubleshoot.

If you’re applying for this job, we would love to see examples of your plugin code - ideally public plugins. Currently we have one other developer and you’ll be expected to work with them and ensure that your code integrates into our existing stuff.

We are a relatively small company (currently only 1 other developer) - and so we’re looking for someone that become a very central piece in everything we do!

The Company
Agentfire.com provides a complete Wordpress ‘real estate’ solution to our clients across the US and Canada - the package includes numerous 3rd party plugins and proprietary plugins that we ourselves have developed.

We’re looking to bring on a second developer because we’re looking to innovate even more within the space and finish current development at a faster rate.

We’re an extremely fun group to work with and believe that you should be happy working with our team. The biggest thing we’re looking for in an applicant is someone who is self sufficient - this means that if you’re tasked with an objective, you should be resourceful in finding ways to accomplish that objective. We’re also really looking for someone who works fast, but carefully, and takes pride in what they do.

Team Requirements
Our team loves working with one another because there is mutual respect and everyone here takes a huge amount of pride in what they do. You will be working with one other developer. To be on our team, you must be:

Helpful: Always looking for ways that you can help others.Happy: It's actually very important to us that you are happy working with our company, and we will do our best to ensure that!
Innovative: We need someone that can take the ball and run with it.
Accountable: We need things done efficiently and on time!

Location
Location does not matter - although ideally we’re looking for someone that can work ‘close’ to EST hours. An idea would a workday somewhere in between 9am and 11pm EST (so 8 hours in between there, for example 1pm-8pm would work)

Responsibilities
  • Architect and document plugin solutions using best practices
  • Effectively manage and coordinate maintenance across our numerous WordPress Multisite environments (all hosted on WPEngine)
  • Coordinate with our team (other developers, etc)
  • Produce code solutions that load quickly and smoothly
  • Work with our team to architect most effective solutions

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English speaker

  • Full Time only!
  • WordPress structure, plugin, and plugins
  • Expert level PHP / MYSQL / JS
  • Basic LAMPS skills

  • Proficiency at local environment development

  • Additional Experience a Plus
  • Examples of plugins / code that you've released to the open source community
  • Advanced WordPress debug skills
  • Server Administrative Tasks
