Senior Web UI Developer (6 month Contract)
Job Purpose
The Web UI Developer will join the web development team to implement responsive designs, and build quality UI components on the companies high traffic web properties. Working closely with the creative and publishing elements of the business the successful candidate will follow Group guidelines to create exciting new user interactions for highly scalable web applications used by millions of Group customers. The Web UI Developer will work with Product Designers to implement the next generation of Full Tilt Poker products and help build efficient and reusable Front End abstractions and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new features and application enhancements
- Write high-performance, reusable code for UI components.
- Design and implement high quality web user interfaces.
- Work on Single Page Application for Web Based apps
- Work closely with design teams to translate the teams design vision to the web.
- Shape the technical landscape for web optimisation and performance for the web group, in accordance with Group guidelines.
- Evaluate new web technology and recommend to the teams adaptation of new techniques and libraries.
Skills and Capabilities
Essential:
- Degree in Computer Science or IT related discipline.
- Fluency in English and good communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience building web applications.
- 2+ years of experience with client side JavaScript MV* toolsets (eg Knockout, Angular, Backbone, Ember)
- Strong experience with developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS.
- A passion for beautiful, pragmatic code paired with a strong sense of product design.
- Solid software development skills with experience building software developed in (at least one) Python, PHP, ASP.NET or Ruby.
- Good knowledge of cross platform rendering issues between major browsers and platforms.
- In depth knowledge of one or more of the following toolkits: JQuery, Dojo, Prototype, YUI.
- Knowledge of responsive design techniques with an emphasis on responsive design.
Desirable:
- Experience with responsive layouts and designing mobile web applications and sites for mobile devices.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework
- Knowledge of, but not reliance on, multiple JavaScript frameworks
- Ability to design load, benchmarking and performance test scenarios
