Description
My Retail Banking client requires an individual to work with compliance colleagues and the business to ensure that the group and its subsidiaries remain compliant with all regulatory requirements and in particular regulatory organisations, and to continue to develop the advisory capability of the Group Compliance function.
Accountabilities include:
Liaising with regulators where required and necessary and provide the input to consultations, including liaison with industry trade bodies.
Ensuring the group and its subsidiaries/business units are provided with requisite advice and assistance for all conduct risk, regulatory advice and wider compliance issues.
Drive forward the group's conduct risk framework and contribute to the Group Compliance Function's identification, assessment, reporting and review of regulatory/conduct risks facing the business.
Promote excellent advisory compliance standards to all in the organisation
Provide and communicate a group view on key compliance advisory policy issues with the aim of developing and or ensuring consistent policy standards throughout the group.
Knowledge & Experience:
Previous experience of compliance in retail banking and specific experience in the secured lending is an advantage.
Familiarity with Euro Mortgage Credit Directive and Senior Management Regime would be of interest
Experience in a Compliance Advisory function or regulator would be a distinct advantage
Detailed knowledge of FCA handbooks and their application in practice
Particular knowledge of relevant FCA specialist sourcebooks and their application, particular knowledge of OFT and ICO would be desirable.
Product development compliance experience is desirable and is experience of consumer finance products and services, and outsourcing.
