Description

For our client we are looking for a Control Room Field Engineer to consult on a large scale national telecom project in Norway. Control Room Field Engineer will be responsible for the CR integration and commissioning in accordance with system documentation and also responsible for performing and reporting of Site Acceptance Testing in accordance with defined test scope.

Field Engineer works within the Project CR integration team and reports on a solid line basis to the CR Rollout Manager.

Primary tasks:

  • Interfacing with Engineering during initial system design
  • System commissioning
  • Site Acceptance Testing with the Agencies as per defined test scope
  • Document commissioning work as per defined test and report scope
  • Field system support, systems optimization and troubleshooting during integration
  • Timely issue resolution and documentation of issues arising during installation
  • Compliance with project processes and project plan
  • Regular reporting and close coordination with the Rollout Manager
  • Investigation and resolution or hand-off of all service complaints

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent experience in electrical/electronic engineering
  • In depth experience (typically 4-6 years) in large system deployment and installation, Radio Systems Engineering, Command and Control Systems, Local and Wide Area Networks, Networking Protocols
  • Thorough knowledge of the Network Management system used within the Dimetra IP Network
  • Thorough knowledge of the overall Dimetra IP technology and the configuration and interaction of the equipment within the switch site and its interaction with other switch sites, RF sites and control rooms
  • This individual must have working experience with electronics, especially networking.
  • Clear communication skills to provide accurate reporting information and assistance to the customer support teams
  • Willing to travel or attend site as implementation plans require
  • Good English knowledge and PC skills
