Position Overview:An exciting job opportunity exists for a System Architect to join a highly-dynamic corporate research group. In this role, you will work in collaboration with a group of international experts on technologies for the future data-centers. You will be responsible for architecture definition, detailed analysis of options, system level simulation and performance analysis for advanced optical switch fabrics and packet level design.
Responsibilities:
You will put into action your solid understanding optical switching systems and simulation experience to analyze network level impact of different architectural choice. You will analyze the tradeoffs and of when considering the implementation for datacenters Switches and put forward system design recommendations. You will contribute to architecture and drive specifications for a physical demonstrator system that you will build with the other members of the team.
You will:
- Recommend design Options for switching subsystems
- System Level Simulation
- Analysis switch fabric blocking and system impacts
- Simulation the behavior of a packet network
- Actively participate in the construction and delivery of a physical system demonstrator
Key qualifications include:
- Strong understanding for Ethernet packet systems
- Strong knowledge of switching architectures and their tradeoffs
- Strong, hands-on experience using Matlab, Simulink, and C++
- Hands-on experience in assembling complex system in a lab situation
- Strong experience with optical lab equipment
- Experience with optical switching and transmission systems
- Clear skills in both written and oral communication, and ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse teams spanning multiple locations around the world
- Masters level degree with 10+ years related experience, or Ph.D with 5+ years related experience
