Description

My Public Sector client is currently looking for a 3rd Line Server Engineer to join the systems team based in Wolverhampton on a 6 month contract.

You will be responsible for providing 3rd line technical support, BAU Support, operating system and database patching and implementation of and adherence to security policy.

Working as part of the Infrastructure Team this role will have responsibility for ensuring all Infrastructure and Processing Services responsibilities are met for supported Servers and applications.

Responsibilities
  • 3rd line support of Server related Incidents within agreed SLA's
  • Ensuring all incidents are updated in a regular, accurate and timely manner. Escalating incidents when required
  • Perform systems administration activities such as performance tuning, data management
  • Creation, update and maintenance of the technical knowledge base and documentation
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to other members of the team
  • Maintaining technical qualifications and skill sets
  • Perform upgrades to and installations of new servers
  • Citrix/Windows system set up and administration
  • Planning and implementation of a scheduled program of patching & firmware/software upgrades
  • Involvement in the design and implementation of Infrastructure solutions plus system performance tuning
  • Report writing and their contribution to actual solutions/enhancements
