Z/OS System Programmer - 3 Months - Lancashire
Urgent requirment

This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of UK's leading mail postal services, as the company is planning mass growth within the next year. The company needs a Z/OS Systems Programmer to provide technical direction and support in the development and support of systems software and procedures.

Job title: Z/OS Systems Programmer

Rate: up to £31.30 per hour D.O.E. with on call support

Location: Lancashire

Contract Length: 3 Months (initially)

Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities
- Installation, customisation, and maintenance of Z/OS which includes DFSMS, TCP/IP, USS, HCD, RACF, RMF
- Installation, upgrade and customisation of 20+ OEM products including; CA1, Opera, - Sysview, TPX, Connect Direct, Syncsort
- Provide support for SMS managed tape library
- Provide support for PSF printers, SNA, IP
- Optimise throughput by customisation of WLM and performance analysis using SMF and RMF
- Provide 24*7*365 on call support via on call

Essential Experience

- Experience Z/OS, OS/390 experience including all aspects of installation, customisation and maintenance using ServerPac with extensive experience of SMP/E.
- Experience installing and maintaining OEM products preferably including: CA1, Sysview, Connect Direct, Syncsort, Tivoli Omegamon
- Experience with HCD
- Experience with USS - including zFS set up, application installs and performance reporting
- Experience with UNIX on intel or Pseries
