Description

Summary:
  • Candidate will fulfil a Machine Development Engineer role supporting Material Handlers, HEX, and Forest Products.
  • The candidate will provide logistical/planning, technical, and hands-on machine expertise in support of the aforementioned programs/projects.
Specific job duties will include:
  • Participating-in project planning meetings
  • Preparing technical project specifications in conjunction with Team and Client resources
  • Coordinating the efforts of various PPG support personnel
  • Conducting various instrumented and non-instrumented tests on location (PPG, TPG, Field Sites, etc.)
  • Analyzing acquired data to varying degrees.
  • Most importantly, candidate will be required to reduce technical and logistical data and offer clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist with the execution on smaller scale projects.
  • This position requires exceptional communication and diplomacy skills, both written and oral, in order to effectively interact with and direct the activities of mechanics, operators, technicians, engineers, and customers/end-users.
  • Candidate must be physically able to and comfortable working on and around heavy machinery.
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of job related experience
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to perform complex assignments
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
  • Print & Schematic (hydraulic/wiring) Reading Ability
  • Hydraulic Excavator Product & Application Experience
  • Material Handler Product & Application Experience
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic System Troubleshooting Skills
  • Ideally, candidate should have a general working knowledge of data acquisition equipment, instruments, various internal/external analysis software, and/or a strong willingness to learn.
  • The candidate must have a strong passion for the client's Products and an equally strong desire to improve those Products through robust development, validation, and problem resolution activities.
