Web Development Architect
6 month daily rate contract

The main responsibility of the web development architect is to provide technical support for the websites which they are responsible for, including website development, modification and administration of hosting environment.
The main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Work with the project team to deliver web/Internet solutions in accordance with the standard software development life cycle to ensure the smooth transition from Business Analysis through to implementation in the production environment.
- Provide input at all stages of the development process with an ongoing focus of web development best practice and open source standards. This process ends with testing of the finished project from a technical, usability, performance and standards review.
- Work with the IT Service desk and IT Operations to support the website(s) and Internet applications including participating in Disaster Recovery testing, incident management, resolution, escalation, in a timely manner and within the ITIL Framework.
- Maintain high level of proficiency in appropriate modern technologies.
- Liaise with Group and Business Unit Marketing on web development project specification - general and functional specification, and liaise with external web development agencies on technical specification.
- Liaise with Business Relationship Managers for each Business Unit and Marketing (both Business Units & Group) to establish, track and monitor business web/Internet requirements.
- Work with the applications team to ensure appropriate process are implemented, in place and updated if required.
The following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes are required:
- A relevant third level or similar qualification or technical experience in the relevant subject matter.
- Knowledge of ITIL process and approach is desirable.
- 2/3 years experience in a similar role, or in an IT support role
- Excellent problem solving skills.
Technical Skills Required
- SSL certificates, Google Tools (eg Google analytics), webforms (for events/competitions), HTML, HTML5, PHP, CMS systems (primarily Wordpress, knowledge of Drupal would be an advantage), XML sitemap maintenance via CRON.
- Google Web Master tools and Bing/Yahoo tools where applicable.
- Google accounts, Bing/Yahoo accounts, Social Media accounts (eg YouTube), PayPal, SoundCloud. Site reporting tools.
- Management of DNS including changes to A records, MX. Knowledge of the creation of VM's. Installation of Apache modules, system applications, files system version control (GIT) and site transfer scripts where applicable.
In depth knowledge of site security, performance, monitoring and updating.
