My Client is currently recruiting for a Principal Design Engineer, Control and Electronics (Experience in Motor Drive Controllers, 3 Phase Inverter & Power Supply Units (PSU)) who will report to the Operations Director.As a result of continuously increasing workloads, we are seeking to recruit a Design engineering Principle or Manager to technically lead our cross functional design teams in delivering electro- mechanical solutions for the defense and oil & gas sectors. The ideal candidate shall have at least 10 years' experience in electronics design and will have worked ideally in a senior or leading role for 3 - 5 years. A strong understanding of Firmware, Algorithms and Software is desirable due to the nature of the products being designed and the team skill sets. The role will consist of the following:
Electronics design and development
Coordination and development with a cross functional engineering project teams to develop and deliver new products.
Responsible for the Leading and Supporting the Design Projects teams on all design related issues.
Shares in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications
Solicits input from other team members on technical issues
Reinforces team approach throughout development activities
Direct interface with customers on technical matters
Support Operations and Sales during site visits
Develop product proposals and generate quotations where required.
The preferred candidate should be qualified with a BSc or greater in Electronic Design Engineering.
Required Skills:
Able to design analogue and digital electronic circuits
Able to program in C, MATLAB & SIMULINK
Sound understanding of microcontrollers, generic analogue and digital circuits.
Sound understanding of AC & DC motor technologies and control theory
A good logical approach to solving technical challenges
Budget management and control
Experienced in leading a team
Should have extensive knowledge of design for EMC and signal integrity
Should be experienced in power electronics design up to 1000v
