POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finished Goods Inventory & Distribution Planner will be responsible for taking the inputs from the demand planning team and converting them to a master production schedule for the manufacturing facility, in order to ensure that the correct inventory levels are available to support distribution center inventory targets and customer requirements.

The role will also be responsible to liaise with, and manage distributors to ensure that customer needs are fulfilled in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include developing and publishing reports to keep management informed of inventory and distribution performance, while striving to meet and exceed external and internal customer expectations.

In addition, this individual leads the development and enhancement of associated systems and processes in order to drive continuous improvement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Master Schedule

  • Convert consensus forecast into Master Production Schedule.
  • Utilization of Cognos reporting tool.
  • Collaborate with Buyer/Planners to identify and communicate constraints in supply.
  • Continue to develop associated systems, tools & metrics.
  • Ensure MPS drives 100% On Time Delivery /Line Order Fill Rate.
  • Acts as backup/holiday cover for weekly/daily manufacturing planning.


Distribution Planning
  • Manage relationship with third party logistics providers.
  • Liaise with Customer Services and distribution company to prioritize critical deliveries to ensure products reach customers per commitments and expectations.
  • Take responsibility for inventory processes in distribution center relating to backorders, scrap & returns.
  • Manage process for monthly consignment inventory reconciliation.
  • Provide intrastat data requirements to relevant parties.
  • Interface management between 3PL & ERP systems.
  • Publish monthly K.P.I.s to global supply chain team.


Sales and Operations Planning

  • Confirm DC inventory availability/delivery quantities (by month) to S&OP coordinator.
  • Monitor forecast changes and projected manufacturing requirements to ensure capacity and material availability.
  • Where constraints are identified work with the Production Planner to lead the process of developing recovery plans as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • A.P.I.C.S certified.


Experience:
  • Five - eight years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and planning function.
  • Expert knowledge of capacity planning, production scheduling, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and forecast management.


Skills:
    • Advanced Excel.
    • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to make quantitative projections.

  • Experience in the medical field an advantage.
  • Able to work as part of a diverse team; strong interactive people skills within various levels.
