This position provides DBA support and leadership for the Oracle Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence environment. This is a hands-on technical role to maintain a growing DW/BI environment using a number of tools, assist and guide developers as to best practices in this environment, train other Oracle DBAs to assist in monitoring, problem identification, and solution guidance. The position will assist the DW/BI teams as they migrate to the latest technologies from time to time providing expertise as needed.Environment: The DW/BI environment is migrating to Exadata and Exalytics. Elements include Oracle database, ODC and IR for ETL, Hyperion Essbase, OBIEE, and (to be developed) OBIA. Golden Gate is used in some cases to replicate data from some sources. Sources include both Oracle and SQL databases. Reports generated from this environment are used to run the business throughout the world and throughout each day, almost 24 * 7. Establish best monitoring practices, incorporate with Oracle Cloud Control where possible. Train DBA staff as needed. Review existing processes for best practice usage and recommend changes instruct developers as needed. Publish best practice standards. Train DBA staff as needed. Make proper use of Exalytics and Exadata technologies to deliver superior performance to the customer while minimizing resource usage in the shared Exadata environment. Determine best role for DBA team in the code/data move-up process and assist as requested to implement. Become a contributing member of the DBA team, learning the teams established techniques for cloning, refreshes, end of month and on-call support, and carrying a fair share of these duties. Required Experience: Minimum 15 years IT experience, 10 years as an Oracle DBA, 5 years data warehouse experience. Experience as a trained developer with an understanding of proper development standards in a data warehouse environment Solid understanding of and experience using the tools required for implementing intelligent DW schemas, including using materialized views, partitioning, indexing (more than B-tree), and various compression schemes including Hybrid Columnar Compression Several years experience developing complex database solutions, designing the database tables as well as developing complex oracle queries and database procedures. Must be able to identify poorly designed code and explain reasoning to developers Should have some background in ERP systems and the kind of reporting that is done against them, Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred
