Our premier Financial Services client is looking for candidates to fulfil the following role within the a specific FS Foundation programme:

Indicative Profile

Typically, an Enterprise Architect (EA) will have a proven track record in managing and delivering high value EA engagements and major technology consulting and transformation programmes with a specific focus on the high level agenda.

Our expectation is that the EAs will be able to advise stakeholders that address business problems utilising people, process and technologies to develop target enterprise architectures, solving design problems and reviewing and validating solutions where appropriate. This typically involves working closely with senior stakeholders to confirm solutions that make strategic and business sense; create proposals that are a win-win for technology and the business; ensure that the downstream delivery is set up for success.

Competencies

All candidates will exhibit and be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

Domain Experience:

Candidates for the role will possess experience of supporting the management and delivery of complex Enterprise Architecture and governance. Being able to clearly and concisely articulate business & technology strategies, domain specific architectures, transition to target roadmaps and solutions.

lt is expected that candidates will have at least 10 years' experience in a technical domain, supplemented by at least 3-5 years as an EA practitioner.

A design and development background, either directly or in a governance role, will be important to enable the candidate to relate to the challenges associated with the latter stages of a large programme.

Industry:

Will have worked across a number of projects with a focus on Financial Services and ideally exposure to card services.

Commercial Acumen:

Must have good knowledge of financial services processes, ideally in the cards arena, and approach challenges from a business perspective. As an EA, will understand the importance of building deliverable and commercially viable propositions and associated structures.

Resource Management:

Will often need to engage in the delivery of services through management of varied colleagues both local and remote. They should demonstrate experience of good people management and coordination skills.

Project Management:

Experience of structuring and plan activities whilst minimising risk and impacts. Ensuring all appropriate stakeholder and communication activities result in controlled and positive business outcomes.

Communication:

Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are essential to convey complex messages in a succinct and professional manner to both technology and business stakeholders. Experience and ability to confidently construct and deliver presentations whilst conveying credibility, confidence and professionalism.

Analytical Ability:

Key to the role is the ability to capture, understand and analyse complex business problems and understanding the importance of root-cause analysis and to propose methods to formulate solutions or resolution approaches. The role will involve hot spot identification within the platforms and development techniques and significant problem solving.

Enterprise Technology:

Will have experience in one or more of the following enterprise technologies preferably from a transformation programme perspective; customer relationship management, enterprise application integration, business process management, service oriented architecture & Middleware, information management solutions, large batch processing environments.

Enterprise Architecture Practices:

Familiar with and able to drive on data, integration, process and functional architectures. A good understanding of what comprises an effective set of Non Functional Requirements and how they should be implemented.

Organizing & Planning:

An experienced individual, who should need minimal management and direction, can competently manage their own time and activities and that of others, ensuring clear prioritization and planning of those activities.

Diversity:

Experience of working in geographically and culturally diverse organisations and understand the specific challenges that these environments present. Building and constantly developing a wide network of relationships will be crucial to success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BSC/B.A. Hons degree preferably in a business or technology subject area
  • MBA is a desirable
  • TOGAF 9 Certification is desirable
