We are currently looking for a web developer at the present for one of our clients, the role requires the developer to develop, test, implement & document web applications to Group and Company standards and to the business requirements of the end client.Role & Responsibilities:
- Complete all development in the required time-scale as set out.
- In addition to Product/Feature development, provide a degree of production support for existing clients' systems.
- Specify and code innovative, quality-driven solutions to meet the business requirements.
- Develop solutions that are secure, retain the flexibility of the system, and have the potential for re-use with other client companies.
- Contribute to overall team/project plans to ensure agreed client delivery dates are achieved.
The candidate will have a high level of experience and ability in Microsoft web development technologies, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
While the role requires primarily VB.NET development experience, candidates who also have good classic ASP / VB COM skills will have a distinct advantage.
We are looking for an engineer ideally with the following experience:
1. Web Development experience in the following technologies:
- .NET Framework 3.5 - 4.5
- ASP.NET Forms development (VB.NET / C# ), IIS 6 - 7.5
- MVC 4 (C#) web development, including GridMVC
- JQuery/ Javascript / AJAX client side scripting
- WCF Web Service development and configuration
- 3rd Party controls (Dev Express)
- SQL (data design, stored proced ure development, TSQL, SSIS)
- Experience in CSS, include frameworks such as Bootstrap.
- HTML5, HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0, WCAG accessibility standards,
- XML, XSLT, XSD, distributed systems development.
- Older Microsoft technologies such as ASP, VB6, COM+
- Experience of Team Foundation Server source control, branching and merging
Schemes, automated builds and continuous integration, etc.
Proficient in techniques used to build complex websites, mid-range and back end solutions.
Proficient in web development techniques.
Proficient in database development and maximising performance
Knowledge of securities for external facing web applications, including LDAP, encryption and PKI
To explain technical concepts in non-technical language
2. Additional experience that would be advantageous in carrying out the role:
- Experience of JIRA workflow management
- Experience of a test-driven development and agile methodology
- Knowledge of an LDAP Security infrastructure.
- Experience with WS-* protocols, Web Service Security (WSE 2.0), and/or Windows Workflow Foundation.
- Some experience of Single Sign On solutions (custom, SAML based)

5. An organised and systematic approach
6. Ability to adhere to all development and SAS70 controls
