Description

Summary:
  • Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance (continuous process improvements) and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Will be performing analysis to identify process improvements (spreadsheet analysis searching for patterns and deviations)
  • Some cycle time analysis, but mostly deviations analysis to determine where changes need to be made to reduce the deviations
  • Group will be inspecting methods (the actual inspectors are inspecting transmission structures, distribution lines and structures, poles, etc.)
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
  • Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Quality.
  • Strong analysis skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Good personality, outgoing, not afraid to ask questions
  • Highly analytical person with less technical skills who fits in is better than a technically skilled person without a personality
  • Will not be doing any inspections, receives the data from the inspectors to find trends
  • Mainly working in Excel and some Access
  • Data mining, trend analytics, deviation
  • Any sort of Six Sigma experience VERY helpful Brown preferred
  • Quality background a plus, but not required
  • Project management experience a plus, team lead position
  • Prefer Utilities experience or maybe Construction experience (the Six Sigma belt is one of the most important considerations)
  • Will make presentations in PowerPoint
  • Good with data (QCI downloads into Excel or Access to manipulate the data)
  • Team leads to implement the improvements - PM skills would be preferred
  • Six Sigma Brown Belt preferred
  • Lead process change
  • Identify, and justify change and make sure it sticks
  • Some admin work with program QCI - Quality Control software (deviations that inspectors find; must be corrected by the organization within a specific time frame)
  • Familiarity with ISO 2854 would be helpful
