THE ROLE
As Automation Engineer you will be responsible for delivery of timely high quality automation solutions and improvements across all technology areas. You will take ownership of incidents within the automation tool set that have impact on live services. You will be an automation tools and techniques mentor for the Infrastructure Operations team leading on the automation of all current manual and batch driven tasks within the virtual and physical infrastructure.
In this role you will be empowered to use your influencing and persuading skills to provide effective communication to project colleagues and key stakeholders managing expectations around timescales and risks to the delivery of new or changed IT services
SKILLS
- Experience of large 24/7 operation supporting complex IT systems
- Strong Automation tools like Puppet, Chef or similar
- Shell scripting, or Perl, Bash Ruby is ideal
- Linux/Unix and VMware knowledge is essential
In Operations and you'll be part of the team supporting the global networks, infrastructure operations delivery, automation, service delivery and desktop services. You might get the chance to work with and support colleagues across the globe, but whatever your role here, a strong focus on service improvement is key.
Rate: £350 -£400
Location: Yorkshire
