Description

The role that I am currently recruiting is an infrastructure service manager working for a global client of mine.

This is a contract role based in Luxembourg

Skill set

Broad understanding of IT data center infrastructure (operating systems, virtualisation, Servers, storage, SAN, networking).
- Experience in IT data center operations. Past systems administration experience is an asset.
- Excellent technical knowledge of some of the main technologies involved: Linux, VMware, Windows, Solaris.
- Very good communicator, able to discuss on a technical level with technicians, and on a management level with managers.
- Responsible and reliable, with initiative, able to take ownership of files and drive them forward.
- Methodical, good planner, attentive to detail.

Job description

The infrastructure service manger will manage Linux, Solaris and Windows Servers, as well as virtualisation in the datacenter.

The person will assist officials of this sector in some of their tasks, including:
-Understand the services provided by the sector, help customers use them, propose improvements.
- Review non-standard requests from customers, analyse them and propose solutions.
- Follow IT operations, help coordinate non-standard activities, identify and escalate issueswhen necessary.
- Manage infrastructure capacity: calculation of capacity usage, needs.
- Generic ad-hoc reporting (write incident reports, provide statistics, verify support coverage).

This is not a direct hands-on position, system administration tasks are performed by other teams
