Description
We’re a New Orleans based Ed-Tech startup seeking a talented iOS mobile software engineer to join our team on a part time basis and help scale development of our products in a dynamic and rapidly evolving space. We provide a video-based teacher observation and feedback platform that is focused on improving K-12 teacher quality via cost effective remote observation, feedback and content offerings.
About the Job
Your role is to help Torsh’s lead developer develop, deploy and manage our mobile technology infrastructure and mobile applications. Currently we deploy two native mobile applications that support our core web application and our goal is to continue iterating on our mobile applications as well as launch new ones.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include maintaining the Company’s existing iOS applications and building new ones. This includes defining and implementing on Apple’s iOS platform as well as communicating with engineers and designers on our web development team along with product and marketing. You are expected to write clean, well structured code and ship highly polished apps that delight our customers. Finally you will provide ongoing QA tests to ensure that code works well and serves its intended purpose.
Requirements
B.S. Comp Science or related field
2+ years experience building mobile applications and developing in an object oriented programming environment
2+ years of iOS programming experience
Understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
Deep knowledge of Apple’s iPhone SDK framework
Deep knowledge of Objective-C, REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON
Ability to discern user requirements and development specifications
Experience working with public and/or private APIs
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
