C&I Engineer (Nuclear) Chester £45,000 - £50,000 plus benefits

An Experienced C & I Engineer is required to work for a company based in Chester on Nuclear projects. The client is an independent, global energy and technology group, operating from plants in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany and USA, with our client being the UK operating subsidiary. They are the world leader in centrifuge technology, which it uses to supply nearly 31% of the world uranium enrichment market, delivering to utilities in 17 countries worldwide.

The Location based in Chester, the site is a short drive from the M56 and has a train station very close by.

The Position is for a Control & Instrumentation Engineer within the Projects and Engineering department. Reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Duties include:
  • To lead the C&I Engineering function and to provide C&I engineering expertise/resources, ensuring that standards/specifications are followed across a range of site infrastructure improvement projects, including software, control panels, field instrumentation and safety significant systems.
  • Undertake activities across the project/engineering cycle, including requirements capture, optioneering, design delivery, review/approval of design deliverables, testing/commissioning and handover.
  • The effective operation of the C&I Engineering Design Function. Delivery of Design Authority arrangements in relation to C&I Engineering, including review and approval of change management proposals and design documents.
  • Act as technical expert in C&I engineering maters, liaising closely with Project Managers.


Required:
  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Proven track record in C&I Engineering and Construction design/controls in the Nuclear Licensed site arena, or other highly regulated industry.
  • Able to demonstrate leading and delivering projects.
  • Significant experience of specifying/working with contractors.


Experience of performing managing staff/agency resources.
