Solutions Developer (Node.js) - Market rate - 3 month contract initially - ManchesterSolution Developer Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Experience of implementing software solutions using a range of open source technologies and frameworks, in particular:
Node.js and Express
RabbitMQ
Docker
Database technologies (including PostgreSQL)
Automated agile, build and test tools and frameworks (including JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, Mocha, Cucumber, Selenium)
Proven experience of working effectively in an agile environment (Scrum)
Experience of structured testing and quality assurance approaches (eg Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development)
Experience of developing user centred, enterprise scale and distributed software solutions
Experience of the full software development life cycle using structured and Agile approaches
Understanding of enterprise level architecture
A positive and cooperative individual who will actively contribute to the dynamic of a high performing team
Desirable:
Experience of delivering in line with Government Digital Services (GDS) design principles
Good working knowledge of the Government Services Design Manual
Experience of developing and integrating with RESTful web service APIs
Solution Developer Role and Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on technical skills in the development, operation and ongoing improvement of complex,
transformational digital service
Work with Technical Architects to develop and implement elegant, flexible designs (using proven patterns where appropriate)
Apply a diligent, pro-active approach to documentation and quality assurance
Work with development team and product owner to understand and implement features for new and existing services
