Description

With its projects off Le Tréport and Noirmoutier, the consortium has been awarded the government contract to develop and install two offshore wind parks with combined power generating potential of 1,000 MW. The estimated generating capacity of these wind farms should therefore be sufficient to meet the energy needs of 1.5 million consumers. At the cutting edge of innovation, each of these wind farms will have 62 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy 8 MW wind turbines.
Construction on the €2bn ($2.26bn) project is scheduled to commence in 2019, while commissioning is planned for 2021.

The role requires you to act as a Technical Lead contributing to the design phase for offshore constructions.
Core tasks are the coordination of the design such there is a foundation design which satisfies Employer, Consultant, Fabricator and Contractor.
The Structural Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager (line) and to the dedicated Package Manager (functional).


Job Description:
Review and develop client design specifications and requirements for the design of foundation
Review and client diligence of detailed consultant’s foundation design to ensure its compliance with client specification
Reviewing of load case definition; evaluation of ULS, FLS, SLS and ALS; structural design analysis incl. FE and fatigue life calculation, PS and SS design detailing, Corrosion protection design
Providing a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders
Liaise with Independent Verification Bodies and other consultants as required

Skills / Experience required to perform role:
Degree qualified Civil / Mechanical / Marine / Structural engineering
At least 5 years of experience in the design of offshore wind turbine foundations and towers, including the specification, development and validation of design methodologies and subsequent analysis
Experience with fabrication techniques, material testing, NDT, and fabrication Quality management systems
Good communication, networking and influencing skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and in complex partnership arrangements
Strong command of English (Must) and French languages (Good to Have)
