The Wintel group activities handles, preserves and optimizes both physical and virtual infrastructure and the related services. These activities can be divided into daily, maintenance (patching and upgrading), monitoring, solving and provisioning, that covering a wide range of services both internal and for different customers.
Manage of all infrastructure based on VMWare Farms: servers deployed on Microsoft Windows platform (from 2003 to 2016).
• Daily activities:
o Morning checks: it is daily checks that are made at 7 AM in the morning (Early) and they are carry out immediately after the check of the mails.
o Console Omnidash: It is the main console where the error messages (FATAL) are conveyed to from the various infrastructure; it is also the basic tools for calls during picket that will receives an email notification
o Ticketing Tools: the trouble tickets opened from the Service Desk group and assigned to the group are taked in charge group by priority (high to low)
o Decommissioning of the Server: these activities are execute due to Hardware refresh (2003 to 2008 or )
• Extraordinary Activities: these activities (patching and upgrading of the customers servers) are done in some dedicated “Maintenance Weekend”; in this way, if all works fine, the activities will be deployed in production environment.
Other activities, such as manage DNS, DHCP, build a new Virtual Infrastructure, replace hardware, create new user, manage Group Policy etc..
