Requirements Engineer - Requirements Capture, Systems Design
A Requirements Engineer with Systems Design experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Portsmouth
This is a 6 month contract working for a leading defence company.
Overview of the Requirements Engineer contract role
A Requirements Engineer is required to ensure customer requirements are captured through successive bid iterations and technical negotiations through the list of changes to the parent design, through the solution spec through the compliance table through the material estimate through to the test and trials list.
Key skills required for the Requirements Engineer
- Ensure design issues and their solutions where they effect requirements are traceable through the above docs and considered backwards to the customer where they require to be negotiated.
- Ensure equipment and subsystem supplier solution requirements are traceable to the appropriate interfacing system design eg wild heat get to the HVAC designer and electrical loads get to the electrical designer.
- Ensure transverse requirements are captured and fed to the appropriate suppliers and designers.
- Validate parent design solution data and open risks and issues are accurately fed through to the new design
- Ensure the implications of design changes are processed by the relevant designers.
- Ensure obsolescence data has flowed through into changes
The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
