The External Communications Officer will work as part of the DIO Public Affairs Communications team and be responsible for supporting a range of communications activities and channels.
- Work to support a range of campaigns and initiatives that reflect the organizations priorities, helping to communicate news and stories to a range of stakeholders in an interesting, engaging and informative way.
- Support the production and delivery of engaging content (stories, images, infographics, videos, blogs) across DIO's range of digital and social media channels including Twitter
- Drive DIO's support and input to major departmental announcements which have an infrastructure element
- Handle reactive media enquiries, liaising with DIO SMEs to ensure responses are provided in a timely way and develop news briefs on key issues.
- Work with DIO Secretariat where clearance is required.
- Proactively engage specialist, trade and regional publications/media outlets to share and re-purpose DIO generated content in a targeted, coherent way
