Conduct Risk Expert

Advantage Resourcing are recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert to support our client's business and compliance advice area in embedding a conduct risk culture within the organisation.
To be considered you must have a deep understanding of the evolution of Conduct risk across the UK financial services industry (including the transition from TCF to Conduct outcomes) and practical experience.
Core activities will centre on upskilling Compliance Advice SMEs in Conduct Risk and the challenges/debate that they should be prompting as well as supporting the respective divisions in upskilling.

Duties will cover the following:
*Represent the appropriate CASE function for consideration of Conduct risk for papers/proposals/meetings, ensuring the Compliance Advice SME is developed as part of this
*Review existing CASE team activities for conduct risk considerations and challenge as appropriate - for the CA to respond
*Provide oversight on the policy embedding activities
*Facilitate additional training/assessment activities from their own experience which will help embed understanding
*Identify further gaps where they can 'add value'
*Provide formalised coaching and development of individuals to ensure capability is improving at all levels
*Support SLTs through encouraging of debate on Conduct Outcomes at appropriate Cttee meetings
*Support with the Divisional Action Plans (scope to be defined up front) on areas where they can add most value to the business, generating long term benefits
*Identify areas of gap/concern so that they may be addressed

Essential experience
*Bringing the topic to life for different parts of a retail or commercial bank;
*Upskilling others around Conduct risk identification/avoidance/mitigation/monitoring;
*Challenging senior stakeholders to think differently and more broadly about the risks being created through their decision making;
*Speaking/Presenting competently about key Conduct risk related concepts including behavioural economics, information asymmetries, anti-competitive behaviour and barriers to movement. This should include the ability to use real life examples that bring these concepts to life for educational purposes;
*Developing and guiding businesses in the production of Conduct risk outcome measures and lead indicators;
*Defining/Operationalising risk appetite statements and minimum standards for Conduct risk;
*Writing and/or reviewing Conduct/Compliance policies.
