Communications Manager - Immediate Start - 12 months Contract

An exviting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager to join a well known Construciton and Engineering Company on their Water contract. This will be based in Hertfordshire with some travel to Reading. The Communications Manager is responsible for managing and co-ordinating all internal communications on behalf of the company and the Joint Venture, as well as promoting opportunities externally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and delivering a communication strategy that supports the requirements of both the company and the Joint Venture
  • Establish links with Communications Leads from Skanska and MWH to develop and implement an SMB Communications strategy
  • Run focus groups with SMB colleagues to understand which methods and levels of communication they would wish to receive
  • Establish links with the eight20 Communications Lead and ensure that the SMB Communications Strategy is aligned to that of eight20
  • Produce an annual calendar of communication events
  • Design and produce any promotional materials
  • Develop and manage all internal communications channels including internal social media channels, cascade briefing process, events and other internal events
  • Support the SMB team with any external recruitment and promotional events
  • Ensure that the project is promoted both internally and externally on behalf of the company
  • Support the Join Venture resourcing and management teams in external recruitment campaigns

Essential

  • Previous experience of devising and implementing a communications strategy
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills including internal and external events
  • Experience of developing Intranet and other online channels
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office
  • Keen attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a JV/Alliance would be an advantage
