Credit Analyst
One of our large investment banking clients is looking for an experienced Credit Analyst
The Portfolio Management Group, part of the Corporate Bank, is responsible for managing the Firm's global corporate credit exposure. with approximately 20 Research Analysts supporting four Portfolio Managers (PMs).
Key responsibilities
Credit Analysis/Monitoring
*Assessing the financial health and credit worthiness of corporate counterparties; extended credit and/or has trading line exposure
*Performance of detailed and in-depth review of corporate historical economic operating results and financial position through the analysis of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement and full set of ratios
*Spread of financials and build/maintain financial models with projections, including base case, downside case and sensitivities
*Analysis of the industry and the company's position versus its competitors and peers
*Being able to assign, justify and/or update a corporate credit rating and a regulatory rating
*Develop an investment perspective on each counterparty and communicate his/her views to the PM and other constituencies
*Maintain detailed going concern and liquidation recovery analyses for HY credits in the portfolio
SKILLS
*Solid credit skills - ideally within asset management or rating
*Excellent verbal and communication skills, able to defend own decisions and actions with logic
*Strong financial modelling skills, including proficiency in Excel
*Understanding of framework for assigning regulatory ratings
*Solid understanding of loan documentation
*Strong desire to develop there credit expertise through fundamental analysis
*Excellent organisational/time management skills, judges priorities well and manages own workload accordingly
*Solid sense of pride and responsibility for own work and that of others
*Team player - cooperates and communicates at all levels
*Understanding of capital market especially with respect to Bonds and CDS
*Committed and motivated, demonstrates solid work ethic but achieves some balance with other areas of life and interests
EXPERIENCE
* relevant credit experience in asset management, CRM or in a major Rating Agency with a proven track record of writing analysis on corporates
Projects/Miscellaneous
*Active involvement and contribution on internal projects
*Support the Team in the management of the workload
