Description
A global Renewable Energy client, specialising within offshore/onshore Wind Operations is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Cost Controller.Principal Accountabilities:
- Work with the Value Management Team and Package Managers in the development of a Project Capex Estimate for Wind Farm options in bidding to Cfd
- To ensure that robust estimates are prepared for expenditure on the Project and that detailed accurate budgets are developed and maintained through all phases of a projects life cycle
- Together with the Cost Team Leader/Project Services Manager achieve all Project Services deliverables required to successfully support moving the Wind Farm through the various Stage Gates - Feasibility, Engineering and Construction including all project sanctions, development of the initial Control Budget and subsequent updates thereafter
- To ensure that ‘actual costs to date’ and ‘forecast costs to completion’ are recorded and tracked against the relevant original baseline project cost budgets
- To ensure that actual costs are reconciled with SAP where appropriate
- To ensure that contingency usage & requirements are recorded and maintained throughout the course of applicable projects and budgets
- To ensure that clear and concise cost and schedule status reports are prepared for issue to the relevant project and management teams and/or budget holders
- To develop cost scenario analysis of alternative strategic options to assist the decision making process
- To ensure that SAP requisitions requested from the relevant project teams are set-up appropriately after confirming that the costs fall within a project budget
- To interface with the time-writing team to ensure that costs are accurately recorded in line with the project WBS. The results should be analysed to understand performance and efficiency on individual areas of work and the project as a whole
- To oversee the project specific P2P process and ensure that AfB’s, AfC’s and AfP’s are correctly administered and controlled and appropriately authorised to ensure timely payment of all purchases and services
- Liaise with Finance and Accounts Departments to ensure the provision of relevant month end cost and accruals information are recording into SAP
- Liaise with Finance departments and JV companies to ensure that costs are being incurred in accordance with the project budgets
- Ensure correct coding of all requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, estimates and develop and maintain all required cost logs and registers
- Participate in Risk Management activities as required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Significant experience as a Cost Engineer preferably within energy industry
- A degree in numerate, commercial or management discipline
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent Access, Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills required
- Good previous experience in relevant industry
- Experience of SAP
- Broad understanding of diverse engineering and construction issues
