Description
- Core
- Design with a view to long term business requirements and term of contract.
- Liaise with Client, Third party and Internal teams (including business, Wintel/VMware and other non-network technical teams, security, service delivery, network support, providers and project/programme)
- Participate in workshops to clarify requirements and options
- Document design proposal and implemented solution, along with non-functional capabilities and constraints.
- Identify, validate (including lab testing where relevant) and recommend appropriate components
- Ensure adherence to internal and client best practice design and integration with existing (and recommend new/enhanced) security, monitoring and resilience principles
- Flexibly support the Programme, Enterprise Architect and Account teams
- Network Architect elements
- Review/Understand current as is' implemented network and objectives
- Assess potential impact of third party requirements - functional and non-functional
- Design and co-ordinate with Implementation and support team a robust design that delivers the agreed requirements - functional and non-functional - of the third party and joint client while at all times protecting the delivery of existing services on the shared infrastructure and ensuring facilitation of troubleshooting and monitoring/SLA management.
- Identify any opportunities for optimisation and protection, including DDOS, Staff v Customer v Guest access paths etc
- Other Solution elements
- Review/Understand current as is' implemented services (Primarily Active Directory, NTP, DNS and VMWare SRM, PrintServices etc)
- Assess impact of third party requirements (functional and non-functional) on these (and any other services identified)
- Propose an appropriate, scalable and secure solution that safeguards existing services, facilitates troubleshooting and fault isolation, protects existing SLA and Capacity while meeting the functional and non-functional requirements of the 3rd party and client.
