Insurance Assistant Underwriter (Personal Accident & Travel): Location - London City: Rate £120.00 -£140.00 MAX per day: Contract - 4 Months
My client is a global blue chip insurance organisation that is looking for a Insurance Underwriter Assistant within Personal Accident & Travel. To provide an efficient and timely service to customers while working collaboratively with relevant staff to achieve set targets.
Responsibilities of PA Insurance Underwriter Assistant:
- Adhere to Company underwriting authorities, philosophies and practices to ensure that the department's technical standards are maintained
- Provide an effective, timely and efficient account management service to brokers whilst meeting the department's growth and profitability objectives
- Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with designated brokers to ensure that development and retention targets are achieved
- Underwrite new and renewal business within agreed income plans, loss ratios and expense budgets
- Control own work-state to ensure effective service in the processing of quotations, renewals, endorsements, queries and service existing business
- Manage the implementation of working practices within the unit to ensure that customer service expectations are achieved and technical standards are maintained
- Assess risks to ensure the quality of business accepted complies with Company standards
- Assist the PA Manager in producing reports or completing specific projects, as required
- Fully understand the key features of our core products & services plus those of our key competitors to highlight the benefits of the company
- Actively cross sell and up sell on accounts
- Continually identify and develop best practices and procedures
- Always look for new ways to improve the service and product offering
- Poactively keep up to date with industry and business issues and changes
- Be proactive and self-motivated
- Maintain a flexible approach and adapt rapidly to changing work environments
- To carry out your accountabilities and objectives within the framework of company and TCF policy
Skills and Qualifications of PA Insurance Underwriter Assistant
- Must have working under writing experience within Personal Accident & Travel
- A good understanding of the marketplace
- Strong commercial insurance background
- Good understanding of the broker and client operational environment
- Proven track record of underwriting renewals and/or new business
- Highly numerate & literate
- Competent in IT packages
