Title: Technical writer - MD
Location: Baltimore, MD 21202, USA
Rate: $31/hr on w2 without benefits
Duration: 7 Months with the possibility of extension
Work Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Required:
- FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Microsoft Word Strong writing and grammar skills Some experience in graphic design Manage multiple writing projects at the same time
Position Responsibilities:
- Research functional, design, and feature specifications
- Coordinate and schedule projects and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, Quality & Regulatory, Translations, and Clinical staff
- Interview SMEs to understand the products
- Learn patient monitoring software and hardware products independently
- Write and update product documentation (user manuals, technical guides, marketing collateral, and service bulletins)
- Prepare material that is organized, readable, usable, and can be easily translated
- Manage the document review process, incorporating edits from SMEs and other writers
- Resolve issues and conflicts that arise between cross-functional teams
Additional Responsibilities
- Submit product documentation for release through the quality system
- Work with a translation vendor
- Edit or copyedit
Position Requirements
- More than 5 years professional experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must be a moderate to expert user of FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Microsoft Word
- Experience working with remote team members
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Ability to work independently with initiative
- Ability to manage multiple writing projects at the same time
- Strong writing and grammar skills
- Some experience in graphic design
