MI Analyst/Reporting Lead - BI/MI/Business Analytics/Excel

My client, a market leading Media/Broadcast organisation, are currently recruiting for a Reporting Lead on an initial 5 Month contract based in Glasgow. The Reporting Lead will be responsible for providing support to Management Information (MI), Business Intelligence (BI), and Business Analytics throughout the company in order to support the operational performance, managerial responsibilities and strategy objectives. The Reporting Lead will also be responsible for drawing conclusions and make recommendations from the various sources of data and information available which may cover operational efficiencies, business process changes, staff retention recommendations etc.

Responsibilities:

  • The provision of regular Business Intelligence reports including commentaries and recommendations. For example:
    • Usage (utilisation) of staffing, facilities and equipment;
    • Performance Reporting including Benchmarking and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's);
    • Long-term planning and capacity reporting;
    • Programme Analytics including financial budgeting and forecasting;
    • Sickness absence and leave management;
    • Legislative requirements including EU Working and Conditions of Service;
    • Scenario planning/modelling across programme, staffing and resource datasets;
  • Supporting the reporting and analytics platform(s) to ensure that data and analytics align to timeliness/completeness requirements;
  • To work collaboratively with others in the Business, Finance and Technology Division to derive practical business processes to ensure consistency, accuracy and simplicity for all reporting packs and analytical tools;
  • Ensure that confidentiality and discretion on personnel and business matters is maintained to the highest standards;
  • To undertake special projects as defined by the Business Intelligence Partner as and when required;

Essential experience:

  • A degree level qualification and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field;
  • Experience of working as part of a reporting team, using a modern reporting platform in both an analytical and development capacity;
  • Experience in engagement with multiple management levels across technical users and business units;
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret large volumes of information;
  • Experience of report writing and communicating to various audiences;
  • General knowledge of programme making techniques and a broadcast environment;
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to influence others;
  • Clear business focus;
  • Team player who can provide valued contributions to business discussions;
  • Drive, energy and enthusiasm;
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities;
