Description
The Village Company markets personal care products nationally to major FDM accounts. Our brand portfolio includes Sesame Street, Mr. Bubble, as well as multiple adult bath brands under the Village Naturals umbrella. We are seeking a graphic design consultant to work on a week-by-week basis to design packaging, presentations, digital and promotional materials. On a freelance basis, the Graphic Designer will create print and digital design work directed by our Creative Manager. This position will work collaboratively with our Marketing and Creative teams to implement print and electronic creative deliverables to support and grow our CPG portfolio.This position requires you to work on site, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Ideally, this candidate would have 40 hours per week available for the next few months.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
- Two to three+ years experience as a designer for a digital agency, marketing, advertising or in-house design team
- Experience serving as the lead designer on the development of print materials, packaging knowledge preferred but not required
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge in pre-press and printing/ web standards
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud): Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Experience using Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Design portfolio required, preferably highlighting CPG experience
- Photography experience required
- Illustration experience a plus
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Design teams to conceptualize, design and produce a wide-range of print and digital material such as: product packaging, presentations, promotional materials, as well as other electronic and printed materials as needed.
- Knowledge of prepress and printing, including the ability to follow file specifications for multiple press types and prep files for print. Possess the ability to manage print work dealing directly with print vendor from quote through production.
- Utilize existing brand standards/ guidelines to create files, which include packaging and web graphics as well as promotional materials. Implement new brand standards/ guidelines when necessary.
- Adhere to a budget and design schedule
- Ability to photograph and retouch products and small scale work

SALARY
Hourly or weekly rate based on experience.
