Modis are currently recruiting for a Mechanical/CAD Design Engineer for a leading Automotive Interiors company based in the West Midlands for an initial three month contract.
Our client is urgently looking for a Mechanical/CAD Design Engineer with Automotive experience, ideally a leading OEM or Tier 1 Supplier, to join their growing team ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
*Create 3D CAD models, and 2D detailed component and assembly drawings.
*Conduct design reviews with production team and customers.
*Generate standard engineering documentation.
*Coordinate tasks with lead engineer and cross functional teams to ensure project completion to expected quality and time delivery.
*Create design proposals and liaise with production team to ensure production feasibility and cost efficiency.
*Provide periodic or 'on demand' project status reports to senior management and external customers.
*Participate in routine meetings to assess progress to projects, project tasks and design reviews.
Person Specifications:
*Proficiency shown and experience in use of Catia V5.
*Experience of using advanced surfacing techniques.
*Must be familiar with applying GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
*Must be familiar with Plastic Injection Moulding/design of plastic rubber and metal parts.
*Working to Automotive standards.
*Experience with or familiarity with a PLM system is highly desirable.
*Degree in relevant subject, or minimum of 5 years working in Automotive CAD Design role.
