Description

A leading supplier who design, manufacture and supply inflatable moving, handling and bathing equipment have an immediate need for an interim production manager on a 3-month contract.

To provide leadership within a manufacturing organisation - managing all functions of the site including production, warehousing/logistics, HSEQ, utilities and continuous improvement.

Expectation is also that the chosen candidate will be able to drive continuous improvement activities, making efficient use of the existing facility and therefore enable the site to cope with expected increases in manufacturing output.

Job purpose:
  • Manage and control production output and to ensure that production targets are met in liaison with the group sales director, whilst meeting quality assurance according to company policy and procedures
  • Achieve company and personal objectives relating to these targets and give regular progress reports to the managing director and board as instructed
  • Encourage and motivate production personnel to work as a coordinated team in order to increase company profitability
  • Enable individual production personnel to achieve maximum performance and job satisfaction
  • Liaise regularly with all department heads to achieve maximum efficiency in the supply chain through departmental coordination and cooperation in accordance with company policy and disciplinary procedures


Job responsibilities:
  • Plan weekly / monthly production schedules in accordance with targets set
  • Liaise with cell leaders and manage production to ensure that the targets set are met within timescales
  • Plan the human resource necessary to achieve targets
  • Monitor and adjust the production processes and adjust schedules as required
  • Maintain and update timekeeping and absentee records
  • Liaise with the quality manager to ensure that the quality standards are fully maintained
  • Maintain and update holiday requests
  • Liaise with the materials controller, stores, purchasing on a weekly basis to ensure that stocks are being monitored to minimise waste or delay and unnecessary costs
  • Supervise, monitor and motivate the production team on a daily basis
  • Maintain and update COSHH manual
  • Comply with health and safety regulations as laid down by the company's health and safety policy
