Project Engineer - Defence/Public Sector

Project Engineer contract opportunity to work with a defence/public sector client based in Bristol. This contract is for an initial 5 month duration, with an option to extend.

Daily Rate: Up to £395.00

Key skills required for the Project Engineer - Defence/Public Sector

  • HNC in an electronic/telecommunications engineering discipline, or track record of equivalent relevant experience. Achieved or working towards IEng. Experience of working/developing Information Systems.
  • Desirable Qualification: CCNA Collaboration/CCNA Voice or equivalent.
  • Project Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the SPCISR3 Systems Design Authority (SDA) through the SDA Manager and Enterprise Architect (EA), in controlling service design, transition and managing continuous service improvement and change initiatives.
  • Service Design: Assist the SDA EA and other specialist technical resources in the control of system & service design and the development of service strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the SDA in the agreement and implementation of service strategy with the SOA and communication of plans with the stakeholder community.
  • Technical arbitration: Support the SDA Hd and EA in making final decisions on technical disputes by providing relevant technical information. Responsibility for ensuring all system integration issues are documented and proactively managed via the appropriate WG where necessary.
  • Configuration Management: Work with the SDA EA and key stakeholders to manage, configure, control and continually improve the system architecture.
  • Architectural Roadmap: Assist the SDA EA in co-ordinating, developing and maintaining the system architecture such that future requirements can be developed through the service pipeline.
  • Acceptance and Testing: Support the SDA EA and MOD requirements managers in managing all system testing and acceptance events and recording the outcomes.
  • Development rigs: Responsible for monitoring and management of the development rigs, including technical resources contracted to provide systems management. Prioritisation of access to the development rigs in order to support service design and to de-risk integration of new services on the system.
  • Interoperability: Assist the SDA and EA in ensuring JSP604 compliance and all matters relating to technical integration.
  • Risk Management: Support the SDA Manager with a risk management process to ensure all service design and technical risk events are identified, documented, and proactively managed.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven Project Management experience in an agile delivery environment
