Description

Senior Active Directory Specialist - AD Forest, Migration Exp, Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2 is required by my client who is based in London.

This role focuses on the migration from an existing AD Forest to a new in-house managed AD and will be Embedded in the AD Migration Project Team.

Experience in migrating applications, Servers, users and computers from one AD domain to other is crucial for this role.

The role requires regular interaction and liaison with all areas of Technology as well as business functions.

Must have skills:

1) Enterprise Active Directory Migration Experience: Candidates must have experience supporting a large scale Active Directory migration as a senior engineer on the project. This candidate will be one of three engineers on this project and will be expected to provide expert level technical guidance.

2) Windows Server Engineering Experience: Candidates must have Windows Server engineering experience as they will be key members of a small team building and delivering out a complex Active Directory infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the enterprise Active Directory environment and resolve any errors therein.
  • Provide expertise on Active Directory migration, integration and capacity planning.
  • Assist Scrum Master/Project Manager with delivery and implementation plans
  • Function as a technical resource regarding Active Directory issues to messaging administrators, programmers, web developers, network security engineers, database analysts, network managers, and implementation teams.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting.
  • Support the application, server and user migration.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Hands on experience of AD migrations, ideally 2008R2 and 2012R2
  • Active Directory concepts and configuration security groups, inherited rights, delegation, OU structure, object types and attributes.
  • Knowledge of Dell (formely Quest) AD Migration Manager, Resource Updating
  • Manager, Change Auditor and Enterprise reporter.
  • Ability to create and manage Group Policies including GPO precedence, enforcement and blocking.
  • Work successfully in a large team environment, with individual accountability.
  • Providing a fully monitored and managed environment
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in a high availability production environment, load balancers, disaster recovery and encryption.
  • Experience with VMware technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of standards and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, SMTP, RPC, HTTPS.
  • Knowledge of forest to forest trusts.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell Scripting.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to be able to participate and drive customer
  • meetings.
  • Strong design and architectural background, and demonstrated success in this area in
  • previous work.
  • Experience with developing and measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for various business applications and services.
