DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS LINE OR DEPARTMENT
The role covers the oversight of the control function for SG London Branch and SGIUK and reports to the head of the SG UK Finance Control.
It includes the prime responsibility for developing, promoting the control framework and monitoring key financial indicators.
It will also include active monitoring and animation of the shared service centre oversight in respect of control framework.
SUMMARY
Responsible for:
Monitoring and reporting the Financial Permanent Supervision
Developing the 2nd level of controls framework
Supervising the off-shoring activities, enhancing their control framework and developing the convergence of controls within UK entities
Assisting in the animation of the DFIN Compliance partnership
Monitoring the Internal audit recommendations portfolio in coordination with SAFE
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for:
Monitoring and reporting the Financial permanent supervision notably through:
Internal Control Certification process
Monthly and quarterly financial closing monitoring
2nd level control framework through the Group permanent supervision tools
Developing the 2nd level of controls framework through:
Spot checks, walkthrough, audit reviews, Performance and Risks indicators,
Actively engaged in the relationship with NAC and FSC Group teams and promoting the new organisation
Reviewing and challenging off shored control framework
Develop standardisation with the UK Control department across UK perimeter
Providing continuity and stability for the development and control of the off shoring of the Finance Activities
Ensuring the alignment of the control function with SG Group standards
Providing the Management with timely and accurate view of the internal control framework and main risks identified
Promoting best practices and adherence to a strong control environment to the Finance staff
Assisting in the animation of the DFIN Compliance partnership
Monitoring the Internal audit recommendations portfolio in coordination with SAFE
Being the primary liaison for Finance Control with Paris head office (SGLB perimeter)
Animating the relationship with SAFE and other support functions
COMPETENCIES AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years experience and skills in audit, accounting and controls framework
Experience and knowledge of brokerage business,
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and banking regulations,
Strong verbal and written communication skills,
Strong ability to liaise will all relevant departments and levels of management,
Ability to identify and take ownership of complex issues,
Degree in Finance/Accounting with at least 10 years' experience in a financial services company or significant experience in a similar function
Education:
Accounting diploma (ACCA) or equivalent
Languages:
Fluent in English
