Linux Engineer
Location: Farnborough or Malvern
Duration: 4 Months
Rate: Market Rates
Our client is recruiting for a Linux Engineer for a well known public sector client.
The role will involve working within the client's application development team.
Skills and Experience Required:
To undertake the technical design, build, test and deployment of Linux-based services within the Cyber Defence Practice (CDP) Shared Services Infrastructure (SSI) to be delivered by the Themis II project.
- Undertake the technical design, build, test and deployment of Linux-based services within the Cyber Defence Practice (CDP) Shared Services Infrastructure (SSI) to be delivered by the Themis II project.
- Produce detailed design documentation under configuration control under the guidance of the Technical Lead.
- Provide support to the Test Lead through the production of test plans.
- Provide technical support to the Test Engineers during Unit/Functional & System testing.
- Good communication and presentation skills with an ability to communicate appropriately at differing levels.
- Good documentation skills using Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel & Visio).
- Knowledge and experience of Systems Engineering processes & life cycles.
- RHCE certification (or higher) desirable with a minimum of 3-years' experience.
- Security Clearance at a minimum of SC.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001.
- RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 and derivatives (CentOS).
- Enterprise Linux in a Clustered/HA deployment
- Automated deployment using Satellite or Spacewalk/Puppet
- Configuration management using SubVersion
- Apache, MOD_Security
- SELinix, IPTables
- Shell and python Scripting
- SSH, Kerberos
- Nagios
- Bind, Postfix
- RedHat Identity Manager
