Senior Network Security Engineer - Network Architect - CCIE - Cisco - Firewalls - Riverbed - Aruba
Long term contract opportunity (W2 basis) to be based in New York, USA.
Job Role and Responsibilities
- The primary responsibilities of the role are to design, support, and maintain the Data Network and Security infrastructure.
- Design, Implementation and Testing of LAN, WAN, Security, and Data Centre Network Infrastructure
- Responsible for security engineering, hardware/software configuration, diversity analysis, disaster recovery analysis, utilization analysis, network implementation, problem management and general subject matter expertise
- Document and update network design and network topology with any changes for equipment, systems, or architectural design
- Provide technical consultation related to network architecture and security to the customer
- Develop site documentation packages and equipment order lists
- Be on call for implementation support for critical changes and projects
- Escalation point for any implementation issues
- Work on problems of extremely complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation covering multiple aspects of network and application security
- Determine feasibility of technical solutions. Assist in root cause determination of network and related problems
- Network Troubleshooting
- Interface with Stakeholders and with escalation teams
- Suggesting Design Improvements
- Providing technical consultancy to business units and other IT teams, as needed
- Giving inputs to Managers and Leads for Project Planning and sending status updates to Leads/Managers
Mandatory Experience Required
- Strong experience in Design and Implementation
- Strong Cisco networking background
- Design and implementation experience around following devices:
- Switches - Cisco Cat6K, 4900, 3750s
- Routers - Cisco ISR G2, ASRs, Cisco 4000s
- Load Balancing Switches - F5
- Wireless LANs - Aruba
- Firewalls - Cisco ASA and PIX, Nokia Checkpoint, Palo Alto experience
- Cisco Ironport Proxies
- WAN Accelerators - Riverbed Steelhead
Skilled in:
- Installing Network Devices. Handling upgrades
- Advanced Routing/Switching/VPN
- Enterprise wireless implementations
- WAN optimization
- Load Balancing
- IDS/IPS implementations
- Ability to consider Compatibility, Scalability, Performance and Integration issues in the design.
- Capacity planning
- Skills to troubleshoot and Monitor LAN, WAN, Security, Data center, and Wireless networks
- A strong team player with an experience working in multi-cultural environment. Sensitive to different roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to work in a global, collaborative environment with teams spread out in different geographie
Desirable Experience Required
- Knowledge of Advanced Network technologies as well as technologies of the future.
- Cisco CCIE R&S, CCNP, CISSP certified
