Description
Modis are currently recruiting for a skilled Design Engineer to work for a Defence organisation based in West Sussex. Due to work load and new projects, our client requires an experienced and suitable engineer to assist them in the delivery of project/product line requirements.
The initial contract will be for three months, though expected to be extended along with the project.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience using SolidWorks within an Automotive, Defence or Aerospace environment and proven experience using design/manufacturing techniques for low to medium volume production.
Specific Responsibilities
*Solid modelling and detailing of products using SolidWorks
*Control of Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD Models and Engineering Drawings
*Engineer to all appropriate product targets eg cost, weight, strength etc
*Ensure appropriate material selection
*Work in accordance to ISO9000 procedures
Experience/Knowledge Requirements
*Automotive, Defence or Aerospace exposure
*Concept creation and development
*Mechanical Engineering IMECHE accredited degree or equivalent
Please note that due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be eligible for SC Level security clearance and hold a current British Passport.
