Description

A Systems Engineer - MOOD, MODAF, Requirements Management

A Systems Engineer - Architect with MOOD and requirements management is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Lancashire

This is a new opportunity within the System of Systems Design (SoSD) team of the UK's latest Fighter Jet programme in Lancashire.

The Integration team work directly with the UK MOD to help them prepare for the integration of this programme into the UK information environment, and entry into service of the new F-35 logistics and sustainment systems (with a specific focus on the ground support tools and processes).

The main focus of the work is the identification and investigation of problems with the Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS) which may affect the operation of this new 5th generation fighter by the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy.

Overview of the Systems Engineer - Architect contract role

The SOSD team uses two analysis methods, both of which will form part of the applicant's day to day tasks: - Development of a tailored MODAF-compliant Enterprise Architecture.

An Enterprise Architecture is a structured set of information (including text and diagrams) which represents both the systems and processes which will allow the aircraft to operate.

The applicant will be responsible for developing this content, reviewing it with the MOD customer and using it to perform analysis of the aircraft information system (off aircraft).

- Visualisation and Experimentation (V&E) Events.

The understanding of the systems and processes captured in the Enterprise Architecture is used by the team to run experiments. In these events, military personnel make use of real/representative aircraft systems to further analyse the capabilities and processes which will be used when this aircraft comes into service. In addition, national observers from partner nations use these Events to raise awareness of the design solution and associated issues.
