Commercial Manager
A Commercial Manager with Defence experience is required to work on an eight month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Filton.
This is an 8 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Commercial Manager Contract role
You will be required to draft sub-contract terms and conditions of contract for on-site support activities. The sub-contract must include customer (UK MoD) flow down requirements. Contribute to the re-design of the sub-contract pack for high and medium complexity systems. Provide negotiation support to the specific supply chain lead for procurable packages on the sub-contract terms and conditions of contract. Provide general commercial advice on not only terms and conditions of contract, but also on wider commercial aspects such as payment plans/profiles, variation of price and foreign exchange. Carry out detailed review of Sub-contract documents and change orders prior to issue.
Key skills required for the Commercial Manager
- Experience in drafting, negotiating and managing supplier contracts particularly the terms and conditions of contract.
- Detailed knowledge of UK Ministry of Defence terms and conditions is highly desirable, maritime, defence or aerospace sector experience is also desirable.
- They will also have to be able to work co-operatively within a small team and be able to interact with senior stakeholders across all the functions of the business.
- Degree qualified in a business or legal discipline, ideally with MCIPS and/or IACCM qualifications.
