Description
Senior Engineers
The position will suit someone with a civil engineering background, with good highways sector experience, including heavy structures. Ideally the candidate would have some experience of other sectors including nuclear and rail, however these are not essential.
Responsibilities
- Capable of translating works information into setting out on site.
- Detailed and accurate setting out using total station surveying equipment.
- A good understanding of robotic surveying equipment.
- Undertake surveys of plant and equipment, including managing permit to break ground and associated permits.
- Ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract drawings, specification and Project Execution Plan
- Manage site dimensional control ensuring that contractors have the facilities for setting out of the works
- Plan and programme the section of the works, producing or reviewing construction method statements
- Ensuring that the section of work are undertaken safely and in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and the site HSE plans. Prepare and review risk assessments
- Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided
- Confirm in writing and verbal instructions from Clients Project Managers staff and maintain a comprehensive record of resources employed
- Check works are completed as required by the specification in terms of dimension and quality
Requirements
- Extensive experience in working on civil engineering projects in a similar role, including Water, Highways and Bridges
- HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering desirable
- Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation
