SDH & IP Transport Network Design Engineer, Brussels > Belgium

An major international telecoms carrier are searching for an SDH/IP Transport Network Engineer to design, test and implement technical solutions based on business and operational requirements.

We are searching for engineers with a minimum of 5 years experience in the telecoms service network industry with advanced knowledge of SDH, WDM/OTN and Eth over transmission.

Applicants should have hands on experience with SDH hardware and NMS, experience with OMNS and NMS (1354RM, 1354BM, 1353NM and 154SY). You will also need experience with WDM hardware and NMS, experience with ADVA FSP3000 and NMS (TNMS/FSP NMS).

Skills overview:

- Routing protocols (ISIS, OSPF, BGP), prefix redistribution between protocols.

- Switched network environments (QinQ, (rapid)Spanning tree variants, 802.3ad)

- IP Sec configurations

- Network monitoring, SNMP & Syslog

- Security hardening of Cisco Routers

- Familiar with Carrier Ethernet Concepts (IETF, ITU-T and MEF definitions; Transport, OAM and Sync protocols)

- Experience on circuit emulation protocols (SAToP, CESoP, CEP), Sync (IEEE1588v2, DCR, ACR, SyncE) and OAM/Performance Monitoring tools/protocols is a plus (RFC2544, Y.1564, TWAMP/CFM, Y.1731, BFD-for MPLS-TP (GAch, GAL) is an asset

- Knowledge on QoS schemes applied to transport networks is an asset

- Good knowledge of Linux systems is a plus

- Hands on experience with Cisco 2900 Router Series, Cisco ME3400, other Cisco switching equipment
