User UX Design/Experience/Researcher - London - £450 per day

My client is looking to hire an a team of exceptional UX Researchers to come on board with a variety of projects based in Central London. August/September Start - ongoing contracts available.

As an experienced User UX Experience/Researcher/Designer you'll have expertise in designing and conducting unbiased lab-based, remote and onsite user research on prototypes for the public and secure sites and devices, making recommendations to projects and senior stakeholders.

The lead UX researcher role is a key leadership position within the IPD department, and is also an extremely important influencing role across the business. In this role you will define our approach to UX research, own the user research strategy in IPD and help shape best practice across the business. Working with senior managers across the business you will champion user research, ensuring that we keep the customer at the centre of everything we do. You will use your insights and analysis to support teams across the department, enabling them to work smarter and faster, steering them in the direction of the most impactful features that deliver the very best user experience.

We'll make full use of your experience in the field of conducting user research around digital/technology, ideally backed up with a relevant degree (or equivalent) in HCI, Design, User Experience etc. You'll have knowledge of moderating usability tests, focus groups, card sorting exercises, ethnographic studies and all of the associated documentation and process of conducting these research activities.

You'll understand quantitative research methods like surveys, remote testing, web analytics and experience using Morae test software is desirable. It's vital you demonstrate excellent senior stakeholder management skills, internally and with third parties and have an innate ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fact paced, Agile environment.

You should have:

  • Extensive experience of conducting user research (eg guerrilla/pop-up testing, interviewing, and focus groups) and usability (lab) test sessions
  • Develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence
  • Extensive experience of the research process, including drafting discussion guides, recruiting respondents, organising test venues and mobilising resources:
  • Full understanding and demonstrable experience of research methodologies. Capability to select best technique. eg Qualitative: in-depth interview, usability testing, and contextual enquiry. Quantitative: benchmarking survey, web analytics:
  • A degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience working in a Lean Agile way
