Senior Internal Communications Manager

A Senior Internal Communications Manager with experience of operating at a strategic level is required to work on a twelve month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK Defence business.

Overview of the Senior Internal Communications Manager contract role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy internal communications team, helping to shape its strategic direction in support of key business objectives.

At a time of great change and opportunity, the Internal Communications Manager will play an integral role in helping our employees understand the evolving landscape of our business.

We are a growing business, with close to 7,800 employees working on one of the UK's most complex and challenging defence acquisition programmes.

Key skills required for the Senior Internal Communications Manager

  • Experience of working within a communications function, operating at a strategic level
  • Experience of people management, ideally management of a communications function
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders
  • Proven track record in persuading and influencing
  • Ideally degree (or equivalent) and/or relevant professional certificate (or equivalent experience to off-set) - for example, Chartered Institute of Public Relations
  • Experience of working within a communications function, operating at a strategic level
  • Experience of people management, ideally management of a communications function
  • Experience of managing senior stakeholders
  • Proven track record in persuading and influencing

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
